Meet the Artist

Hi, I’m Katie! I am a 20-year-old artist from Knoxville, Tennessee, working predominantly in acrylics, pencil, and pastels, on 2D surfaces exploring mixed media and collage elements. Most of my work consists of portraits, figure drawing, and still lifes, although I aspire to improve my landscapes and architectural studies. Blending semi-realism and abstract, to me, the most important elements of my artwork is how I use color, movement, and dramatic shapes. The historical movements that resonate with me most are: Baroque, Expressionism, and Social Realism, but I see most of my inspiration online, some of my favorites are: Jon Stich, Syd Swisher, and Essi Arts. However, the simple joys of life like fashion and music are what I really hope to capture in my art.
